Two cricketers arrested for their alleged involvement in match fixing being brought to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: All-rounder Aadil Ansari and former cricketer Mehboob Alam are being brought to Kathmandu on their alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the Nepal T20 League.


Former national cricketer Mehboob Alam and member of the National Cricket Team Aadil Ansari have been arrested for being involved in spot-fixing in the Nepal T-20 League.

A Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) team arrested the crickets duo this morning from Rajbiraj and Biratnagar, according to police sources. Police also informed Republica that they are now being brought to Kathmandu. 


Nepal T-20 League was held at the cricket ground of  Tribhuvan University from December 24  to  January 11.


Alam is a former all-rounder of the Nepal National Cricket Team. He has a record of taking 10 wickets in a single match.


Ansari, who was arrested, made his debut in the national team in the match against the US only last June.
