Two die, one injured in rain-triggered landslides in Palpa

PALPA, June 22: Two dead bodies were recovered from the Sammobari area of Tansen Municipality-11 on Monday evening after four vehicles were hit by rain-triggered landslides on the Palpa-Gulmi road.

PALPA, June 22: Two dead bodies were recovered from the Sammobari area of Tansen Municipality-11 on Monday evening after four vehicles were hit by rain-triggered landslides on the Palpa-Gulmi road.


Chief District Officer of Palpa, Ramesh Neupane said that a person who sustained injuries in the incident was rescued immediately and sent to hospital for treatment. "The landslides have damaged a tanker, a bolero jeep, a truck and a car. Two vehicles have been swept away by the landslide," Neupane told Republica Online.

According to him, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force personnel are currently carrying out rescue operations.


"The incessant rainfall has prevented us from carrying out the rescue operations smoothly. Further details about the incident are awaited," he said.
