Two elderly patients succumb to COVID-19

DHARAN: June 10: Two senior citizens have died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Science. 


The deceased have been identified to be residents of Dharan and Ramdhuni Municipality.

According to Joint Spokesperson, Dr Chudamani Pokhrel, a 60-year-old male from Dharan breathed his last on Wednesday at 10:50 PM. He tested positive for COVID-19 on June 7.


He was subsequently admitted to Bijaypur Hospital in Dharan. He was later referred to BP Institute of Health Science on June 8. 


Similarly, a 70-year-old male from Ramdhuni Municipality-9 of Sunsari died while undergoing treatment at the health institution. He died earlier today at 4:25 AM. According to Dr Pokhrel, the elderly person tested positive for COVID-19 on June 3 and was admitted to BP Koirala Institution a day later. 


According to the hospital administration, the bodies of the deceased have been managed according to the health protocols set by the government authorities.
