KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Police have arrested two people in possession of Rs 1.35 million and 4,300 Chinese Yuan whose source could not be traced. The arrest was made at Tusal, Bouddha, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6.
Those arrested are Indian national Chhiring Dorje and Chinese national 42-year-old Panchaudi, the Police Headquarters, Kathmandu stated. A police team from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha found the illegal currency notes in the course of checking on Thursday night.

Police said they confiscated approximately 1.5 kilogrammes Buddha idol made of gold-like yellow metal from inside the cabinet of the scooter (Ba 64 Pa 1109) Chhiring Dorje had been driving while checking. Similarly, the police confiscated the Nepali and Chinese currencies from the bag Panchaudi had been carrying. Panchaudi was pillion riding on the same scooter.
An investigation is on in this connection, police stated.
Meanwhile, police arrested one person from Nagdhunga of Chandragiri municipality-2 in Kathmandu this morning with 50 grammes hashish and banned drugs- 122 ampules of Nitrovet, 16 units of Spas and two bottles of Diles. The arrested is 20-year-old Kiran Ayer of Krishnapur municipality-8, Kanchanpur. He was nabbed with the contraband from a bus coming to Kathmandu from Kailali in course of checking.
Similarly, three persons were arrested on Thursday along with brown heroin from Samakhusi of Kathmandu metropolis. Those arrested are 21-year-old Barsha Kunwar, 22-year-old Bhuwan Karki and 24-year-old Anil Joshi of Tikapur municipality-1.
