MAKWANPUR, April 15: Two Indian women were arrested on Friday in possession of illegal drugs worth more than Rs 500,000.

Police confiscated more than 92 kg of hashish from the women. The arrestees have been identified as Sumitra Devi Sahani, 35, and Rinki Devi Sahani of Motihari district of India. They were arrested by Makwanpur Police from Manhari Rural Municipality near the East-West Highway. According to the police, the duo got caught during a security checking. They were coming to Hetauda in an Indian Tata Safari jeep with registration number UP 21 FF 1854, informed Inspector Biskash Raj Khanal of Makwanpur Police. According to Inspector Khanal, the hashish was wrapped and hidden in various parts of the jeep. 


Police will be taking action against the women under the Narcotics Drugs Control Act 1976.
