Two killed, eight injured in bus crash

KATHMANDU, Nov 7: Two people were killed and eight others were injured when a passenger bus heading to Kathmandu from Rautahat hit a group playing deusi in Makwanpur.

KATHMANDU, Nov 7: Two people were killed and eight others were injured when a passenger bus heading to Kathmandu from Rautahat hit a group playing deusi in Makwanpur.


The group was hit by a passenger bus (Ba 3- 001 Kha 0936) at 9:45 PM on Saturday.


The night bus lost its balance when it approached the group playing deusi on the road and hit the group.

The deceased have been identified as Suraj Bista, 20, of Hetauda Sub-Metropolis-19 and Prem Bahadur Singh Thakuri, 23, of Chitwan Piple-3, according to DSP Jayeshwar Rimal, spokesperson at the district police office.


Eight people were injured in the incident. According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, all the injured are out of danger.


After the incident, angry locals vandalized the bus and set it on fire. The bus has been burnt to ashes.


DSP Rimal shared that the bus driver Amit Kumar Karki, 38, of Chandrapur-6 in Rautahat was taken under control by the District Police Office, Makwanpur.
