KATHMANDU, Jan 27: Two people were killed in a pickup jeep accident in Ilam Thursday morning. The pickup jeep (1-01-001 Cha 7916) coming from Jhapa to Ilam fell about 500 meters down the road after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
According to Ganga Bahadur Thapa, information officer at the District Police Office, the accident took place at Rong Rural Municipality-4 on the Mechi Highway. According to him, Ramesh Thapa, 55, of Mechinagar Municipality-4 and Surya Bahadur Thapa, 40, of the same place died on the spot.
One killed, six injured in Dang jeep accident
Similarly, jeep driver Arjun Koirala, 33, of Mechinagar-4 was seriously injured in the accident. He has been taken to B&C Hospital in Jhapa for treatment. Police said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
