JHAPA, Dec 16: Two people were killed when a bus and a motorcycle collided head-on at Durgapur in Kankai Municipality-7 of Jhapa district on Wednesday night.
The deceased have been identified as Santosh Rai, 33, of Rong Rural Municipality-6 of Ilam and Chandra Bahadur Rai, 35, of the same place, according to Basanta Pathak, spokesperson for the District Police Office.
Two youths killed in Jhapa road mishap
Pathak said that a bus (Na 5 Kha 7937) headed west from east and a motorcycle (Me 7 Pa 2846) coming from the opposite direction collided on the East-West Highway at Kankai-7 Durgapur on Wednesday night.
Both of them were critically injured in the accident and were rushed to the B and C Hospital, Birtamod where they succumbed to their injuries. Their bodies have been kept at the hospital while the motorcycle, the bus and the driver, Saroj Dhakal, 31, of Chulachuli Rural Municipality-2, Ilam are under police control.
