JHAPA, July 10: CPN-UML has clinched both mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates in Arjundhara Municipality in Jhapa , which is a home city of Nepali Congress Jhapa district president Uddav Thapa.

CPN-UML mayoral candidate Hari Kumar Rana has won the election with 13, 879 votes, against 9,641 votes for his closest rival Nepali Congress mayoral candidate Hem Prasad Kharel.
Likewise, UML deputy mayoral candidate Kamala Acharya has been elected as deputy mayor of Arjundhara Municipality. She garnered 12, 831 votes while her closest rival NC deputy mayoral candidate Saraswoti Sitaula 10,579 votes
