UML quits government, withdraws its support to Dahal-led govt

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: CPN-UML has decided to leave the government.  


In the meeting held today at the party’s Central office Chyasal, latest political developments as well as the presidential election were discussed.

The Secretariat meeting held this morning took the decision to quit the government. Also, UML has withdrawn its support to the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government. 


Earlier during the nomination of presidential candidacy, it was announced that the party would stay in the government until March 9. 


But after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal stopped Foreign Minister Bimala Rai Paudyal from going to Geneva on Sunday, UML decided to quit the government immediately.
