UML to strongly protest against constitution amendment bill

KATHMANDU, April 25: A CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting has decided to strongly protest against the constitution amendment bill tabled in the parliament by the government on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, April 25: A CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting has decided to strongly protest against the constitution amendment bill tabled in the parliament by the government on Tuesday.


The meeting held at UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Balkot today took a decision to this effect concluding that the amendment bill registered in the parliament by the government is against the interest of the country, sprit of the constitution and the people’s aspirations.


“The constitution amendment bill tabled in the parliament by the government is against the interest of the country, sprit of the constitution, people’s aspirations and the People’s Movement II held in 2062/063 BS,” the UML said in a press release issued today.

Meanwhile, the main opposition party has also disrupted today’s House meeting over the amendment bill.


Similarly, a team of UML leaders also reached the Election Commission Office to draw its attention to the latest development stating that the constitution amendment bill will push the country torward perpetual conflict.
