UML wins mayoral race in Shuklaphanta

MAHENDRANAGAR, May 22: The CPN-UML has won the mayoral seat in Shuklaphanta Municipality in Kanchanpur district. UML's Rana Bahadur Mahara has been elected to the post with 6,773 votes while his closest rival Chinta Mani Bhatta from the Nepali Congress got 6,264 votes.

MAHENDRANAGAR, May 22: The CPN-UML has won the mayoral seat in Shuklaphanta Municipality in Kanchanpur district. UML's Rana Bahadur Mahara has been elected to the post with 6,773 votes while his closest rival Chinta Mani Bhatta from the Nepali Congress got 6,264 votes. 


Similarly, NC's Kalpana Joshi Panta has been elected the deputy mayor of the municipality. She secured 6,519 votes against 5,360 votes obtained by her nearest contender Madhav Panta from the CPN (Unified Socialist).

Meanwhile, the NC is leading in the vote count in Bhimdatta and Punarbas municipalities.
