Unidentified group opens fire on ex-govt official's house in capital

KATHMANDU, July 30: An unidentified group opened fire at a house belonging to a retired government official Bishnu Prasad Sharma at Kalanki in the capital on Monday evening.

KATHMANDU, July 30: An unidentified group opened fire on a house belonging to a retired government official Bishnu Prasad Sharma at Kalanki in the capital on Monday evening.


A team of Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) has recovered bullets from Sharma's house. The MPCD has launched a probe into the incident. Police said that it is immediately not known about those involved in the incident.

According to MPCD, Sharma's daughter was studying in her room when the unidentified group opened fire on the house. Sharma is a retired under-secretary.


Spokesperson at the MPCD Kedar Dhakal said that they have also seized some firearms from the area.
