Unified Socialist in dilemma over supporting new govt

KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Leaders of the CPN (Unified Socialist) have different views on whether to support the government. Out of 52 standing committee members, 30 have given their opinions till Sunday afternoon.

KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Leaders of the CPN (Unified Socialist) have different views on whether to support the government. Out of 52 standing committee members, 30 have given their opinions till Sunday afternoon.


Ganga Tuladhar, deputy secretary general of the party, said that although some leaders support the idea of supporting the Dahal-led government, they are not in a hurry to join the government.

He also said that the leaders who spoke in the standing committee meeting expressed the opinion that Maoist Chairman Dahal should be supported as he is the Prime Minister of the current government. He also clarified that there was no immediate discussion about forming a coalition with the UML, Maoist Center or Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP).
