Upper House Chairman Timilsina expresses dissatisfaction over work of constitutional commissions

KATHMANDU, March 21: Chairman of the National Assembly, the upper house of the federal parliament, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has expressed dissatisfaction over the work of the constitutional commissions.


Chairman Timilsina has also drawn everyone’s attention to the fact that the constitutional commissions should not be developed into mere recruitment centers.

Speaking at a program organized by the Muslim Commission Nepal in Lalitpur on Tuesday, he made it clear that the constitutional commissions formed for the development of the competitive ability of all communities should work accordingly.


Chairman Timilsina also urged all the constitutional commissions to prove the relevance of their existence by efficiently fulfilling their defined responsibilities.


Timilsina mentioned that the constitutional commissions are not for eternity and also reminded that they should work so that they will not be necessary after a few years. 


He drew the government’s attention to the fact that it should not be tight-fisted in arranging for the necessary means and resources for the commission.
