BAGLUNG, March 14: Chairperson of the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina today said that an environment should be created wherein all political parties get together for their election campaigns. This is needed for reducing election expenditures, and forging a common political understanding of development activities, according to him.

He also stressed the need for political parties to focus on election programs for the sake of people and the development of the country. "Develop the country and work for the people, people vote for us evaluating our performance. Those who have won elections just by influencing voters by distributing rice and other essentials to them are good for nothing," he said while inaugurating a mega health camp set up in Baglung district.

He also urged the voters to use their conscience while choosing their representatives through the upcoming elections.

In a different context, Chairman Timilsina claimed that there had been reforms in the health sector following COVID-19. "The infection has helped identify and carry out infrastructure development activities in the health sector. There have been problems in salary distribution to doctors. Those doctors who are working in rural areas should be encouraged."
