KATHMANDU, Nov 23: US Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry on Friday urged Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa to review visa fee being charged by Nepal to US tourists.
Ambassador Berry made the request during his meeting with the home minister at the latter’s office in Sighadurbar, according to a press release issued by the home minister’s secretariat after the meeting.
The duo dwelled on Nepal-US ties and exisiting cooperation between the two ocuntries in various fields.

Congratulating the new US ambassador for assuming the post, the home minister expressed the confidence that the bilateral ties between the two countries will take a new high during his tenure.
Thapa expressed gratitude for US assistance to Nepal in various fields including socio-economic development, disaster management, trainings and physical infrastructure building for the Nepali security agencies, according to the press release. “I hope that the US government will continue support to Nepal,” he said.
In response, Ambassador Berry vowed to further deepen US-Nepal relationship during his stint.
The ambassador also expressed concern over curbing the human trafficking and management of Tibetan and Bhutanese refugees in Nepal.
