KATHMANDU, Aug 7: The fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) reading which measures the air quality of a particular place docked at 3.39 micrograms per cubic meter (μg/m3) Monday morning between 4 and 5, the fairest air breathed in the country’s most-densely populated city.
The air quality index (AQI), however, measured the worst of the day (18.22 μg/m3) between 11 and 12.

According to the World Health Organization, the AQI of 25μg/m³ is regarded as the healthy standard for humans while the Government of Nepal has prescribed a standard of 40 μg/m³.
