View Tower construction begins without EIA approval

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: The construction work of a view tower has begun without geeting the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) approval.

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: The construction work of a view tower has begun without geeting the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) approval. 


An EIA report must be approved prior to building any facilities spreading in the area of more than 10 square kilometers.

However, the construction work has been taken forward breaching laws of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and without listening to the voices of the locals.


The KMC has given the task of construction of a luxurious a 12-story view tower to Swachchhanda Bkoi Company.


The company started its work last week.


“We had started the construction of the tower last week,” Manoj Bhetwal, an executive member of the company told Republica Online. EIA is under the process, he said.
