Visiting Indian Army Chief leaves for mountain flight to Solukhumbu

KATHMANDU, Nov 6: Visiting Indian Army Chief Manoj Mukunda Naravane has left for a mountain flight to Solukhumbu for sightseeing majestic peaks including Mount Everest.

KATHMANDU, Nov 6: Visiting Indian Army Chief Manoj Mukunda Naravane has left for a mountain flight to Solukhumbu for sightseeing majestic peaks including Mount Everest.


According to Nepal Army, Indian Army Chief Naravane is scheduled to make sightseeing of Mount Everest, Ambadablam, and other peaks in the Everest region. Naravane reached Solukhumbu around 8 am in the Agusta helicopter that Nepal Army procured earlier for the VVIP flights.


General Naravane had breakfast at Hotel Everest View that lies at an altitude of 3880 meters. He is scheduled to return to Kathmandu after sightseeing.

General Naravane is scheduled to fly back home Friday afternoon after holding a meeting with Prime Minister K P Oli, who also holds the portfolio of the defense ministry.


Naravane arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday to receive the honorary rank of General of Nepal Army as per the reciprocal tradition between the army of Nepal and India. President Bidya Devi Bhandari conferred him with the honorary rank of General on Thursday amidst a special function held at Shital Niwas.


Shortly after he landed in Kathmandu, General Naravane had visited Basantapur Durbar Square and Pashupati Nath Temple.
