DHANGADHI, July 2: Vote count has been halted in Wards 3 and 17 of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City over vote-documentation paper dispute  .

After parties demanded vote-documentation paper containing number of votes cast signed by all the concerned stakeholders, vote-count was halted to preempt possible serious conflict.

According to Dhan Singh Mahara, Chief Returning Officer of Kailali district, ballot papers and vote-documentation paper were sealed in separate sacks as per the agreement among the concerned parties.

"Since they were sealed in separate sacks, it became impossible to make the vote-documentation paper available immediately, which resulted in the postponement of vote-count", said Mahara.
