Vote counting halted over dispute in Urlabari Municipality

MORANG, June 29: Vote counting has been halted in Urlabari Municipality over disputes related to ballot papers.  


The dispute cropped up after a ballot paper was found with a thumb print on the electoral symbol (sun) of CPN-UML. The counting stopped briefly after the UML representatives went out of the counting center.

Of the total 500 votes counted so far, UML is taking lead in the vote counting with 142 votes while his closest rival of Nepali Congress Khadga Fago has got 122 votes. Similarly, CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Rajendra Paudel has got 54 votes.
