SURKHET, Feb 26: Ward Chairman of Bheriganga Municipality-1 Nawaraj Karki, who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident, has died while undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital, Basbari, Kathmandu.
A four-wheeler (Karnali Province 02 001 Kha 0546) had hit the motorcycle (Ve 6 Pa 4401) that Karki was riding in Bheriganga Municipality-12 along the Ratna Highway on February 19.

According to Renu Acharya, Deputy Mayor of Bheriganga Municipality, Karki succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Neuro Hospital, Bansbari, Kathmandu at 10PM Friday night. Karki, who was undergoing treatment at Karnali Province Hospital, was airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment two days ago.
Karki, who belonged to various social organizations, was the youngest ward chairman of Surkhet. Born in 2048 BS, he was elected as the ward chairman as a candidate of the CPN-Maoist Center. He was the founding Vice President of JCJ Bheriganga.
