This move comes weeks after a similar controversial directive issued by the Chairman of Pokhara Metropolitan City-19 in Kaski. The notice requests landowners to cut down trees and clear bushes on private property to control the increasing threat of monkeys by mid-March.

"Since monkeys and other wild animals have damaged agricultural crops in all settlements of Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-3, I urge all concerned individuals to cut down trees and remove shrubs on their private land to eliminate the habitats of these animals by mid-March," reads the notice issued by Chairman Karki.
