Ward chief attacked in Bajura

BAJURA, Nov 20: Dammar Mahat, the chief of Badimalika Municipality-2, was attacked by an unidentified group on Saturday while returning home from the District Health Office, Bajura.

BAJURA, Nov 20: Dammar Mahat, the chief of Badimalika Municipality-2, was attacked by an unidentified group on Saturday while returning home from the District Health Office, Bajura.

The incident took place near the District Sports Development Committee at around 10:30 pm. According to Mahat, a group of three people attacked him on the way. He has sustained serious injuries to his head and eyes. Mahat had secured victory in the local elections from CPN-UML quota. He is undergoing treatment at the District Hospital.


Though he suspects the cadres of Nepali Congress might be behind the attack, it is not yet confirmed.  Police have started investigating into the incident.
