Ward member’s dead body found 38 days after her disappearance

UDAYAPUR, Oct 4: Chhatra Kumari Thapa (Raut), a ward member of Triyuga Municipality-2, Khaijanpur, Udayapur, who had been missing since August 25, was found dead on Sunday. Her body was found after 38 days.

UDAYAPUR, Oct 4: Chhatra Kumari Thapa (Raut), a ward member of Triyuga Municipality-2, Khaijanpur, Udayapur, who had been missing since August 25, was found dead on Sunday. Her body was found after 38 days.


According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyanendra Phuyal of the District Police Office, 38-year-old Raut had been missing since August 25. Her skeleton was found hanging from a tree in Machhapuchhre Community Forest in Setikhola, Belka Municipality-8, by some local residents.

Police said that Raut’s body was identified after a DNA test and the body has been handed over to the relatives. Raut was elected as a ward member of Triyuga-2 in the local elections held last May.
