CHITWAN, Feb 16: Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairperson of the agitating Dahal-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, has said that he is holding talks with the leaders of the main opposition Nepali Congress, Janata Samajbadi Party and other political parties to launch a joint agitation against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
Talking to reporters in Chitwan on Tuesday morning, Dahal claimed that the joint agitation against the dissolution of parliament will begin very soon. However, he did not give a specific timeframe for the same.
"I spoke to Sher Bahadur Deuba (Nepali Congress president), Ramchandra Poudel (senior leader) yesterday and other leaders of the NC are also in touch with me. We have also held talks with the leaders of Janata Samajbadi Party. I believe that we will be able to launch a joint agitation soon," Dahal added. He expressed hope that parliament will be reinstated through the Supreme Court's verdict.

"I will not stake claim for the post of prime minister if parliament is restored and a new government is formed. Someone else from the opposition parties will become the prime minister in that case and we will support him/her," he said.
Dahal insisted that the country might plunge into another form of anarchism and extremism if elections take place in an unconstitutional and undemocratic manner. "In that case, I will not opt for anarchism or extremism. I will continue my peaceful politics," he said.
On a question whether his faction will take part in elections if elections take place, Dahal did not give a clear answer.
Dahal said that lawmakers even within the Oli-led faction are also against dissolution of parliament.
"To my knowledge, 90 percent of parliamentarians belonging to the Oli-led faction of the NCP are against the dissolution of parliament and now the factional politics has barred them from speaking publicly on the issue," Dahal, who is also a former prime minister, said.
