KATHMANDU, Dec 26: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC), Bishwa Prakash Sharma has commented that they have become just like footballer Mbappe in the current game of politics. Sharma made this comment at the ongoing literature festival in Pokhara.

In the 'Mirror of Society in Politics' debate, moderator Basanta Basnet asked him a question whether he had won or lost. General Secretary Sharma replied, "We have won and then lost. In the World Cup held recently, Mbappe scored the most goals. Similarly, Congress won the most seats in the last November 20 elections. Mbappe also scored the most goals and won the Golden Boot. But someone else took the trophy.”  He said, “That's why our situation is like that of Mbappe."

When asked what ‘Mbappe’ will do after five years, he replied, “After five years, they say that  they are defending champions, but we will become champions by defeating the current champions.”

Another General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa added, "Mbappe will win, because Messi won’t be there anymore."

He added, "It's fine if Messi doesn't play. Even if Messi and Ronaldo come to play together , we will fight, clash and knock them down.”
