KATHMANDU, May 5: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City should be held accountable for the works he did in the last five years.
Addressing a program organized by the NC Kathmandu Metropolitan Committee on Thursday, Thapa said that the people should raise questions about the work done by the mayor of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City during the last five years. He said that the people of Kathmandu should be given the answer as to how clean Kathmandu has become as per the commitment made during the last election. He called the mayor for accountability for whether he fulfilled his commitment or not.

General Secretary Thapa also said that some leaders and candidates of various political parties have insulted women and mentioned that the women of Kathmandu should give fitting answers to those leaders who think that being women is incapable through this election.
Similarly, Thapa said that the CPN-UML was coordinating and allying with various political parties haphazardly in the local level elections. He said that the UML has coordinated with Kamal Thapa's party, which advocates Hinduism in one ward, and Parivar Dal, which advocates Christianity in another ward.
