We will assist in increasing trade with Nepal: EU ambassadors

KATHMANDU, May 10: A two-day EU Nepal Business Forum was held in the capital with the promise of bringing in foreign investment and enhancing trade in Nepal. The program held in the capital for two days on Monday and Tuesday discussed in detail the possibility of foreign investment in Nepal and business enhancement.

KATHMANDU, May 10: A two-day EU Nepal Business Forum was held in the capital with the promise of bringing in foreign investment and enhancing trade in Nepal. The program held in the capital for two days on Monday and Tuesday discussed in detail the possibility of foreign investment in Nepal and business enhancement.


Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister Ramesh Rijal said that the short-term challenges of moving the country from a low-income country to a middle-income country should be minimized.

"We are realizing the necessary support and facilitation from the European Union to move from a low-income country to a middle-income country," he said. "We have been continuously improving trade and investment policies. We are taking the suggestions given by the concerned bodies as guidance.”


Donna Deprez, ambassador of the European Union to Nepal, said that since the European Union has a unique opportunity to show support and unity for Nepal, everyone should cooperate.


Ambassador of Germany to Nepal, Dr Thomas Prinz expressed his commitment to give regularity to discussions and meetings, stating that more meetings would be needed in the coming days to actually implement the commitments made now. Finnish Ambassador to Nepal, Riina-Riikka Heikka said that the forum is a suitable platform for sharing experiences and expanding networks.
