KATHMANDU, August 23: CPN (United Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the candidates of his party will stand in the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assembly elections with their own election symbol - ‘pen’.

Speaking to the media at the parliament building in New Baneshwar on Tuesday, Nepal said that he has prepared for the election based on this alliance. He said, “We will prepare for the election based on the five-party alliance. Unity with the Maoist Center will advance post elections. Preparations are being made to form a coordination committee for that.”
An understanding has been reached between Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Unified Socialist Chairman Nepal, to draft a joint manifesto in the upcoming HoR and provincial assembly elections. Similarly, it has been agreed to form a Party Unification Coordination Committee to do political and ideological work for the unification of the two parties.
