KATHMANDU, May 14: The country has a general influence of westerly winds as well as local winds now. Cyclone Mocha, which is developing in the Bay of Bengal, will not have a significant impact on Nepal, according to the Meterological Forecast Division (MFD) of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
According to the MFD, the cyclone has turned powerful and is moving towards the north-northeast direction and is heading towards coastal areas of Bangladesh and Myanmar. At present, the weather is generally clear in the rest of the country with partial change in the hilly areas of the country. Gandaki and Karnali regions are experiencing light rain at one or two places.
Snowfall likely in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces
In the afternoon, it will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of the country with the possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly areas, according to MFD.
