KATHMANDU, Dec 29: The weather is generally clear in the hilly areas of the country, while the rest of the country is partly cloudy today.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Presently, no significant weather systems are affecting Nepal.
The MFD has said that since this morning, light to moderate fog has been observed in a few places in the Terai area of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and in one or two places in the rest of the Terai area of the country.

The weather is expected to be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of the country this afternoon, the remaining parts of the country will be partly cloudy. The weather will be generally clear and at night, the weather will be generally clear in the hilly areas of the country including Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces.

December 30 (Saturday):
In the hilly areas of Far West and Karnali Provinces, a partly to normal change is expected, while other hilly regions, including Lumbini and Gandaki Provinces, may witness partial changes. The rest of the country is anticipated to have generally clear weather. There is a chance of light rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi province, and light snowfall may occur in isolated spots in the high hills and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. Nighttime conditions will be partly cloudy in hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, including Far West, Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki. The remaining areas are expected to have partly cloudy to generally clear skies, with the possibility of light snowfall in specific high hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
December 31 (Sunday):
In the afternoon, there will be partial to moderate showers over hilly areas of Karnali and Gandaki provinces. The rest of the hilly areas in Koshi province, including Sudurpaschim, Lumbini, and Bagmati provinces, are likely to remain generally clear. Light rain may occur in one or two places in the hilly areas of Karnali, Gandaki, and Koshi provinces, with a possibility of light snowfall in isolated locations in the high hilly and mountainous areas of the country.
At night, the weather will be partly cloudy in hilly parts of the country, while the remaining regions will experience clear weather. There is a chance of light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces.
