KATHMANDU, March 17: With an objective to showcase the outstanding socio-cultural and environmental values of the Karnali region, a week0long photo exhibition started at Nepal Art Council in the capital on Saturday. The photos on display are based on Karnali Expedition 2018 organized by Nepal River Conservation Trust (NRCT). The 44-day expedition had started from the headwaters of the Karnali River in Tibet, passing through Nepal to its confluence with the Ganges River in India, traveling about 1,080 kilometers.NRCT said the purpose of the expedition was to collect data throughout the Karnali River system in socio-environmental values of the Karnali so as to help policymakers to improve regional planning.“This is our great privilege to exhibit the photographs of our 1st scientific Karnali expedition,” said NRCT President Megh Ale. “I really hope this gives us a different perspective to understand and help to manage rivers for our future generations.”
