Who’s a homemaker?

Imagine a society and a place to live where there is no difference between male and female. It means there’s no disparity and the responsibility of a person lies in their abilities.

Visualize the situation where the supremacy and dominance of a male become nullified. It would be so much simpler if women have been independent. We still can’t make own decisions, pursue career choices, and achieve financial stability. Our society still suffers from norms and rules of the society which has seen slow change. We need to broaden our thinking and transform not just in our thoughts but in actions too. Changing one’s mindset is an easy task, but abiding by it is challenging.

Organic New Year in Dharan

The other day I went to my cousin’s birthday.  I overheard women in their late thirties debating about career choices young girls make . They were discussing the difficulties for women to manage professional and personal life.  The majority of them were working ladies, and some of them had left their jobs once their kid was born. I think working as a professional or involvement in different activities is a choice. There are women who have a job for the entire day, cook both meals at home, and look after their kids. It gets hectic and tiresome, but they are up for the challenge.

Who says staying at home and managing the house is an easy task? Household chores are not easy as one needs to keep up with the budget and work according to time constraints. Raising a kid is the toughest job if you are juggling between home chores and a job. It would be an amazing combination if a woman can work things out and balance both completely.

Equal participation and responsibility between spouses is the call of the hour today. A woman cannot bear the brunt to become a homemaker alone. A woman should be able to follow her passions in the 21st century. Taking the time out for self and doing the things that one loves would ease the chaotic work of the home. If a male spouse can become a homemaker sometimes that would be great.
