Dr Taranath Pokhrel, chief of Family Welfare Division under the Department of Health Service, said that the Covishield vaccine, produced in India, approved by the government of Nepal to use against the COVID-19 disease is clinically tested and approved.

Likewise, the health officials have warned those with chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma and pregnant women to not receive the shots.

“Some people receiving the vaccine will experience headache, body pain, mild fever, tiredness and other normal symptoms. The vaccine centers will provide medication and consult with them,” according to the Family Welfare Division under the Department of Health Service.

The government of Nepal, on January 15, approved the Covishield vaccine against the COVID-19 disease. Nepal received one million doses of Covishield vaccines from India.
