Bollywood celebrities look forward to Diwali. There are many who host festive parties at home, then there are those who travel to their hometown to spend time with their friends and family. In the latter category falls Yami Gautam. The actress hails from Chandigarh, where she stays with her parents and sister. Like most of the years, this year too Yami flew to Chandigarh to bring in the festival of lights with the family. However, tragedy struck the family and they couldn’t celebrate the fest.

Talking about the same, Yami says, “I had gone there for a span of two days. I was looking forward to the festival, however, we couldn’t celebrate it.” She further adds, “Actually a close relative passed away on the day of Diwali. We spent the day at the cremation ground, doing the last rites. So this Diwali there were no lights, no sweets nothing.” The actress is currently busy with the promotions of Bala. She will be seen along with Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in the film.
