After buying a heritage property in the hills, the actress has acquired a duplex in the city
Born in Himachal Pradesh and brought up in Chandigarh, Yami Gautam set up base in Mumbai after tasting success with her debut Hindi film, Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor. Last year, she went to her farm house in the hills to try her hand at organic-farming.

Now, we hear the actress is retracing her steps to Chandigarh. A source close to Yami informs that she had always wanted to own a house in the city as her family lives there. “Yami liked this duplex and bought it recently. It is her first house in the city, which she will be frequenting whenever she can to unwind and spend time with her family. Her parents will move into the new house in a month,” the source shared.
While work on the interiors is on, Yami has already reserved a spot as her reading corner. “That’s her favourite part of the house. Also, she wants the aesthetic to reflect the one she grew up in. Her parents are elated,” added the source.
Yami, who bought a 100-year-old heritage home set on a 25-acre plot in Gohar in 2016, had earlier stated that for her, home is more of an emotional connect than a property investment. On taking up organic-farming at her farmhouse in the hills, she had told Mirror (September 20, 2019) that when she was growing up, her family maintained a little kitchen garden in their Chandigarh home, which had introduced her to the concept early on.
