KATHMANDU, March 9: A woman has been killed in Golbazar, Siraha.


Anita Shah, 35, a resident of Golbazar Municipality-6, was found dead around 2:30 AM on Saturday morning beside her bed. Her husband, Mahendra Shah, was found unconscious nearby.

The police were informed of a dispute between the couple prior to the incident. Following the report, a police team was dispatched to the scene.


The Shah couple were tenants in Sikendra Purbe's house in Golbazar, where they ran a tea and breakfast hotel.


"Anita's face appears to have been struck with a sharp object, and her head was also hit with a stone," stated SP Santosh Acharya of Siraha, stating that there was recent discord between the husband and wife.


Three people have been arrested by the police for questioning, suspected of involvement in the crime.


Shah, who was found unconscious at the scene, is receiving medical treatment. Anita's body has been sent to Lahan Hospital for an autopsy. SP Acharya confirmed that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
