Women being trafficked to Kuwait rescued, two arrested

KATHMANDU, July 6: Police have arrested two persons on the charge of woman trafficking.



The arrested are Laxman Sapkota, 36 and Rimjim Tamang, 28, resident of Sindhupalchok and currently living in Makalbari, Jorpati.



A joint team of police mobilized from Police Sector. Nagdhunga and Maiti Nepal had found two girls aged 20, resident of Dubachaur-7, Sindhupalchok, in a microbus heading to Pokhara from Kathmandu during a regular checking at Thankot.



Sapkota had taken Rs 6,000 to take the girls to Delhi from Kathmandu, while Tamang had taken Rs 10,000 to take them to Kuwait via Delhi.



Police are further investigating the case.
