Writ filed at SC against merciless trading of livestock

KATHMANDU, July 29: Animal rights activists have filed a writ petition at Supreme Court against the merciless transport of the livestock used for the meat products.

KATHMANDU, July 29: Animal rights activists have filed a writ petition at Supreme Court against the merciless transport of the livestock used for the meat products.


Advocates duo Padam Bahadur Shrestha and Shatkond Shrestha filed the writ at the apex court demanding for the order from the court to stop the inhuman trading of the livestock.

The petitioner has included Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock among others as defendants.


The petitioner has criticized the defendants for being reluctance on implementing the rules and criteria regarding the transportation of the livestock for the meat products.
