Earlier, four lawmakers representing Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) in Lumbini Province filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court against the party’s decision to suspend them from the position of lawmakers and the party.

JSP had suspended four of its lawmakers taking oath of office and secrecy as ministers in the Shankar Pokharel-led cabinet in Lumbini Province. Those lawmakers had also signed a no-confidence motion filed against Chief Minister Pokharel jointly by Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center) and JSP.

Lawmaker Bijaya Yadav, Santosh Pandey, Suman Sharma and Kalpana Pandey were among the lawmakers filing a writ petition at the apex court demanding immediate suspension of the decision to remove them from the party and reinstate their position as lawmakers.
