LONDON, June 27: Founder of Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) and entrepreneur Dr Upendra Mahato said that after five years, no Nepali will visit abroad for standard medical treatment.


Speaking at a program organized by NRN-UK on Monday in London, Dr Mahato said that he had invested in medical sector to facilitate all Nepali for easy access to quality health services in Nepal and to create Nepal as hub for medical tourism.


During the program, Dr Mahato informed that from July 350-bed hospital will come into operation and with an investment of Rs one hundred billion, he is planning to establish Nepal Medi City Hospital.

He added that within five years, he has plan for establishing five hospitals in Kathmandu valley and five outside the capital and assured that he will bear the initial risks.


He called on Nepali doctors, nurses and other medical officers residing in UK to use their skills and knowledge for the development of their motherland during the meeting between medical officers and NRN officials.


“The climate, Nepali cultural and traditional values and the quality medical service will attract the foreign patience to Nepal”, said Dr Mahato.


During the program, various medical officers residing in UK said that they will put on their effort to make Nepal as medical tourism center.


Likewise, various NRN representatives congratulated and wished Dr Mahato for his upcoming projects.
