KATHMANDU, Nov 16: The 13th Valley Public Cup Inter-school Basketball Tournament is set to start today.
In a press meet organized in Kathmandu on Thursday, the administration chief of Valley Public School, Golfutar, Mahesh Adhikari informed the details about the tournament.
Chief guest of the program and the international advisor of the school Brigadier Sme Lee Obe praised the school on organizing sports tournaments in school and that the sports has been binding the world in one.

Adhikari stressed on the importance of keeping school-level tournaments as it helps in the development of sports in the country and that the sports is the backbone of its development.
A total of 24 boys team and 16 girls team will take part in the tournament which will be played in league cum knockout format, informed the organizers.
Also in the program, school’s chairman Lil Bahadur Gurung said that the school is organizing football, basketball, table tennis and athletics considering the importance of taking education and sports together.
The total budget of the tournament, which runs till November 23, is estimated at Rs 300,000.
