BIRGUNJ, July 23: Narayani Hospital-based COVID-19 laboratory has confirmed 17 more positive cases of COVID-19 through Polymerases Chain Reaction (PCR) tests including a case of fatality.
The test results acquired on Wednesday night confirmed COVID-19 in a 70 years old man of Birgunj who had died undergoing treatment in Narayani Hospital, according to Dr Udaya Narayan Singh, the in-charge of the hospital. “Of the 17 new cases, two are medics of the hospital.”

“125 throat swab samples were tested for COVID-19, of which 17 samples turned out to be positive,” said Dr Nira Patak, Chief Lab Pathologist at the hospital.
In recent days, the hospital is witnessing some serious cases of COVID-19.
With some easing in lockdown measures across the nation, community transmission of the coronavirus is feared. Local governments are still facing some sort of challenge in conducting contract tracing of the infected people. The flow of migrant workers from India has not stopped yet.
