17 still missing in Kalikot landslide, two more bodies retrieved

MANMA, Oct 14: Seventeen people are still missing in landslides and floods in Kalikot while bodies of six missing persons have been retrieved.

MANMA, Oct 14: Seventeen people are still missing in landslides and floods in Kalikot while bodies of six missing persons have been retrieved.


According to the District Police Office, Kalikot, two bodies were retrieved from the landslide debris on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Dhrubaraj Bista of Tilagufa Municipality-7 and his daughter Jyani Bist. The landslide on Sunday buried five in the Bista family. Of them, the bodies of four have been recovered as of Friday, according to the Information Officer at District Police Office, Kalikot Inspector Shubharaj Bam.


Similarly, the whereabouts of 13 people of Ranchuli village of Tilagupha municipality-4 who went missing in the landslide are still unknown. They were buried by the landslide at a time when they were heading to attend a funeral procession.
