Nepal records 1,857 new cases and 2,222 recoveries
KATHMANDU, August 28: As many as 27 people succumbed to COVID-19 on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

Similarly, the health ministry recorded 1,857 new cases of COVID-19 alongwith 2,222 recoveries.
According to the MoHP, 9,409 PCR and 3,767 antigen tests were conducted today. Of them, 1,516 PCR and 341 antigen tests turned out positive for the deadly virus.
There are currently 36,866 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 33,835 are in home isolation, 3031 in institutional isolation, 615 in ICUs, 346 in quarantine and 164 on ventilators.
Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 549 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. Of them, 370 were detected in Kathmandu, 67 in Bhaktapur and 112 in Lalitpur. There are currently 9,278 active cases of COVID-19 in the Valley alone.
