3 children killed after landslilde buries house

DANG, Sept 4: Three children of the same family in Salyan were killed when a landslide buried their home on Sunday evening. Landslides buried the house of Balaram Dangi, a local of Bamphukhola of Bagchaur Municipality-12 in the district. It led to deaths of his three children, informed District Police Office (DPO), Salyan.

DANG, Sept 4: Three children of a same family in Salyan were killed when a landslide buried their home on Sunday evening. 


Landslides buried the house of Balaram Dangi, a local of Bamphukhola of Bagchaur Municipality-12 in the district. It led to the deaths of his three children, informed District Police Office (DPO), Salyan. 


The deceased have been identified as eight-year-old daughter Lalita, six-year-old son Lalit and four-year old daughter Menuka. They were inside the house when the landslide hit.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bir Bahadur Shahi, chief of the DPO, their bodies were taken out of the debris on Monday morning. 


“We reached the site of the incident as soon as we were informed. But it is in a remote area needing a long trek. We set off on Sunday evening but reached the site only on Monday at around 1 am,” informed DSP Shahi. 


However, police could not get their bodies immediately after arriving due to heavy rainfall throughout the night. 


In a similar incident a few days ago, five people of the same family in Bagchaur Municiaplity-4 were killed after landslides buried their house.
