7,000 people from rural Rupandehi villages benefit from NA's mobile health camp

KATHMANDU, April 23: The Mid-Western Divisional Headquarters of Nepal Army (NA), in cooperation with the Social Development Ministry of Province 5, local governments and various social organizations, organized a five-day health camp starting from Wednesday in Majgawa village of Kothimai Rural Municipality in Rupandehi district.

KATHMANDU, April 23: The Mid-Western Divisional Headquarters of Nepal Army (NA), in cooperation with the Social Development Ministry of Province 5, local governments and various social organizations, organized a five-day health camp starting from Wednesday in Majgawa village of Kothimai Rural Municipality in Rupandehi district.


Around 7,000 locals in the rural Kothimai, Sammarimaai and Marchabari and its adjoining areas that lack access to health facilities benefited from the mobile health camp, according to a press statement issued by NA.

The people coming to the health cap were treated for illnesses related to general medicine, gynecology, eyes, nose and ear, throat, skin disease, orthopedic, respiratory ailments, mental health, hernia and hydrocele. A total of 63 surgeries were also conducted successfully in the five-day camp.


Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa also inspected the mobile health camp and interacted with the patients on Saturday. A total of 201 saplings were also planted on the premise of Marchabar Aadarsha Higher Secondary School on the concluding day of the health camp.


Province 5 Governor Umakant Jha had inaugurated the mobile health camp, while NA Divisional Headquarters chief Major General Sita Ram Khadka had concluded the camp. NA in the statement said the health camp has helped to further strengthen civil-military relations and the relations between the government and people in the area.
