705 frontline journalists insured against novel coronavirus in Bagmati

KATHMANDU, June 18: As many as 705 frontline journalists in Bagmati Province have been insured against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

KATHMANDU, June 18: As many as 705 frontline journalists in Bagmati Province have been insured against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).


The frontliners in Bagmati Province were insured with Corona Insurance in a joint collaboration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Press Registrar Office and Federation of Nepali Journalists.


With this, an insured journalist will receive Rs 100,000 if he/she tests positive for COVID-19 through the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test from United Insurance Company.

Amid an event, Dinesh Regmi, a representative from United Insurance Company, handed over the details of the insured journalists to Press Registrar Rewati Sapkota on Thursday.


As per the decision to insure 1,000 frontline journalists, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of Bagmati Province insured 705 journalists in the first phase.
